I’m Kelly, an independent Speech and Language Therapist based in Berkshire. I graduated from University College London (UCL) in 2011 and began my career working with adults in acute hospital settings, supporting communication and swallowing needs across a range of medical conditions.
In early 2016, I moved into Paediatrics, where I found my long‑term professional home. Since then, I’ve worked with children and young people from Nursery through to 18 years of age across mainstream schools, ARPs (Alternative Resourced Provision), specialist provision, and individual home and school settings.
My clinical approach is neuro-affirming, play‑based and child‑led, with a strong focus on supporting communication in ways that feel safe, meaningful and enjoyable for each child. I work collaboratively with families, schools and wider professionals to create support that is practical, evidence‑based and tailored to each young person’s strengths.
I provide:
Comprehensive speech and language assessments
Targeted intervention sessions (individual, school‑based and home‑based)
Parent coaching and support
Training and workshops for school staff
Assessments and reports for EHCP applications and reviews
I have experience working with children with:
Autism (ASD)
Developmental Language Disorder (DLD)
Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
Down syndrome
Prader–Willi syndrome
A range of genetic conditions
Learning difficulties
Dyslexia
Speech sound difficulties
Childhood Apraxia of Speech / Dyspraxia
Selective Mutism
Behavioural challenges related to communication needs
Early language delay
Play skill development
AAC users (low‑tech and high‑tech)
I am trained in Ayres Sensory Integration and as a PROMPT practitioner, supporting children who benefit from sensory‑informed approaches and tactile‑kinesthetic cues for speech production.
Alongside my professional work, I’m a mother of three and live in the countryside. I have a love of history, arts and crafts, and music, and I bring this creativity and curiosity into my therapeutic approach. My aim is always to help children communicate confidently in their own way, and to support the adults around them to feel equipped, informed and empowered.
