I offer a free 15–20 minute online consultation for parents or schools who would like to discuss concerns, ask questions, or explore whether Speech and Language Therapy may be helpful for them and their child.
This is an informal conversation designed to understand your child’s needs and decide on the most appropriate next steps. No assessment is carried out during this session.
I provide comprehensive speech and language assessments for children and young people from early years through to 18 years of age. Assessments are tailored to each child and family circumstances and may include:
Detailed case history
Observation of play, interaction and communication
Standardised and informal assessment tools
Speech sound assessment if required
Language assessment (understanding and expression)
Social communication assessment
AAC assessment (where appropriate)
Sensory-informed observation
Parent and school consultation
A full assessment typically involves up to two hours of direct input, depending on the child or young person’s presentation, attention, regulation, and ability to engage in assessment tasks.
Some children may require shorter, split, or more flexible sessions to ensure the process remains comfortable and supportive.
Following the direct assessment, additional time is required to:
Score and analyse assessment results
Review findings
Write a clear, detailed report
Provide practical recommendations
Suggest targeted goals for intervention
You will receive a written summary or full report (depending on your needs), including recommended next steps for home, school, and therapy.
I have extensive experience completing assessments and reports for Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), including contributions for new applications and annual reviews.
